Tura Satana was a Japanese B-movie actress and exotic dancer in the 1960’s. She was gang-raped at the age of 9, and the five men that attacked her were never prosectued. She learned karate and subsequently tracked down each man and exacted revenge. At 13 years old with a fake ID, she posed for nude photography, stripped, and eventually found herself in show business. She was in gangs, bathing suits and on film for the majority of her youth. Her most noted role was playing Varla in the sexploitation Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! That role defined everything she had been doing up to that point. Kicking ass, being beautiful, and taking no excuses.
One of my biggest heroes forever.
